Case Histories: Alopecia and hairloss

Today, more and more people, both men and women, suffer from hair loss (alopecia). GPs, dermatologists and trichologists are often unable to offer a solution, especially if their patients' hair problems are severe or if the hair loss has persisted over many years. Patients are often told that they have to learn to live with it.

Alopecia might not be life-threatening, but its emotional impact is devastating. It can totally destroy your confidence and self-esteem, no matter whether you are a man or a woman.

If the alopecia is not too severe and some hair is still growing on the head, patients are often prescribed drugs or hormones. Although these work for some people, they do have negative side-effects and usually need to be taken for the rest of your life. For other people, these same drugs make their hair fall out even faster. In severe cases where all the hair on the head and body (alopecia universalis) is lost, the medical profession offers no solutions at all. And yet, even in these severe cases, hair can be helped to grow again by using health kinesiology.

Diffuse hair loss

A 42-year-old mother of three had been suffering from diffuse hair loss for many years and had been seeing a trichologist for 4 years. Despite following a programme of treatment which included expensive hair drops and iron supplements, improvement in her hair over this period was disappointing and short lived. At the end of her tether, this client came to see a practitioner for health kinesiology treatment, and after four sessions, not only did she have an enormous amount of new hair growth and significantly better hair quality, but the new hair coming through was also her old natural colour of dark brown rather than the insipid light brown and grey it had become over the years.

Diet & premature baldness

A young man of 24 came to see a practitioner. He had had problems with his hair since the age of 14 when he had developed thinning hair on his crown. He was eating a lot of junk food, drank lots of diet coke and was also very dehydrated. The practitioner started with a little tidy-up of his diet by reducing the junk food somewhat and increasing water intake. At the same time, eight sessions of health kinesiology were necessary to allow his body to rebalance itself and allow nutrients to get into the cells. At his last session, he came back, sporting a shorter hairstyle and showing off a clearly denser hairgrowth than he had had before.

Treating a child for hairloss

A young girl of 5 visited a practitioner for hair loss, she had alopecia to the back of the scalp and was unable to wear her hair down for school meaning all of her friends noticed. This obviously was causing great distress. Upon identifying a build up of heavy metals in her body and implementing a couple of dietary changes the young girl, now 9, has a wonderful head of hair.

Bald patches and hairloss

A lady came for Health Kinesiology as she was losing her hair and it was distressing her greatly. She was having to wear a hair band as she had a number of bald patches and her Doctor said more of her hair could fall out.

She had four sessions of HK and I also recommended that she use Udo's Choice Oil. Some months later she emailed me to say that she was delighted, as all of her hair had grown back. In addition she said that the experience had also taught her a lesson in humility.
