I started my working life as a scientist with a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD doing research on plant virus diseases. Later I obtained a diploma in Music and a BA with the Open University.
I retired in 2004 and became interested in Complementary Medicine.
I completed the Diploma “The Identification and Treatment of Allergic Disorders” with the British Institute for Allergy and Environmental Therapy in 2006 and I am now their Course Co-ordinator as well as running my own practice.
I saw Jane Thurnell Read's book “Health Kinesiology” on my boss's desk when I was about to go on holiday and asked if I could borrow it to read on the plane. That was it. I was hooked. I had to learn all about this! I studied with Christine Fowler in Newcastle and qualified in Health Kinesiology in 2007, loving every minute of it. I am also a Reiki Master Practitioner, and have done a foundation course in Touch for Health. I am a member of the British Institute for Allergy and Environmental Therapy, BCMA, KF, HKI and The Reiki Federation.
I live in beautiful countryside in Mid Wales with my husband. I work from home and have a beautiful light and airy practice room, which people say they feel very relaxed in. I like to think that I am able to combine my therapies for the benefit of the patient but HK is particularly exciting because all sessions are different. The client is in control and their body will decide what treatment is relevant for the condition they are suffering. I have successfully treated emotional problems, allergy, asthma, arthritis, aches and pains, candida, electromagnetic and geopathic stress and have been constantly surprised by the versatility of HK.
Because of my scientific training, it is in my nature to question everything, but I have to admit, that in learning these therapies, I have been amazed by things which I just cannot explain. Come along and be amazed too!
