Like many therapists I came into Health Kinesiology to sort out my own physical problems. In 1973 I came to Britain after teaching for 6 years in Queensland, Australia and a further 6 years in Canada. I opened a gift shop in Ripon, North Yorkshire which over the years grew into a thriving business. In 1989 I developed tennis elbows and although I sought help from my Doctor and a number of different therapies there was very little improvement. Three different therapists independently suggested I needed to be doing some type of healing work myself. In January 1990 I enrolled on the Health Kinesiology course. For six days I was totally enthralled and went back to Ripon determined to arrange more staff coverage for the shop to free me up to see clients and be an HK practitioner. The clients came to Ripon from as far afield as Aberdeen and Birmingham. My practice grew rapidly and my thoughts turned to teaching. In 1993 I trained to teach Health Kinesiology. I was one of the first three teachers in Europe to be authorised by Dr. Jimmy Scott, the founder of HK. Over the years I have attended all the advanced HK workshops taught by Dr. Scott and Jane Thurnell-Read. I have been responsible for training many of the professional HK practitioners working across the north of England. When Jane retired from teaching HK in January 2001 I became the lead tutor and took over as the HK co-ordinator for the Open College. I feel it is a real privilege to have the outside accreditation for our Health Kinesiology courses from the West North Yorkshire Open College Network based at Leeds Metropolitan University. In May 2001 I moved to Chesterfield, Derbyshire and established a new practice. I was able to leave my client base in Ripon in the very capable hands of a number of professional HK practitioners. I never cease to be amazed at the body's innate capacity to heal. Many times it only needs a gentle nudge to help the energy system function optimally and the physical body follows suit. Health Kinesiology, where we only work with both conscious and energy permission and we ask the body wisdom what it needs to heal, is a wonderful medium for initiating a smooth healing process for the client. Over the years I have seen some remarkable recoveries from both chronic and acute problems and my personal client file holds many grateful letters. Maybe your letter could be there too! |
