I taught then lectured Physical Education for many years before training as a Remedial Masseur. Occasionally I found that people did not recover as they should, or people mentioned conditions they had which were not appropriate to massage. I went to a conference about Health Kinesiology where we were told about how comprehensive a therapy it was. My reaction was that it would fill many of the gaps and so much more. How right I was. What a fascinating journey it has been. I would not have met and been able to help such people as the poultry farmer allergic to chicken. He had always had bad health since boyhood. He had to hang over a chair to have his back banged to clear his lungs most days. His wife took over the task from his mother for over thirty years. He had frequent chest infections and had to take antibiotics. Since having HK he has been dramatically better. His wife has never known him so well. Mrs. L always refused to fly. Her daughter married, moved to America and had a daughter. Mrs. L wanted to see her grand daughter. She came to me for 2 treatments. Her husband turned to her half way across the Atlantic and said, “You’re enjoying this aren’t you.” On their return one of the first things they did was to book a Mediterranean holiday by air! MB has a pub. He tried my newly developed “Beat Smoking” technique and programme. This includes a combination of allergy work on nicotine (which drastically reduces the craving) and de-stressing the psychological dependence . He only needed to come once though most people need to have 2-4 sessions. HK can work well with my other therapies, remedial massage and Bowen. Mrs. P had a stubborn shoulder problem which neither remedial massage or physiotherapy could quite remove. After 2 sessions of HK the pain had completely gone. On looking at the notes of treatment covered it became evident that Mrs. P was about to retire and did not know how to handle it. On being de-stressed about this, the pain disappeared and has given her no trouble since. Another Mrs. P had damaged her back very badly in a fall. The hospital had done all they could but it left her in extreme pain interfering with her life especially sleep. A combination of remedial massage and HK reduced it to “soreness” so that she can carry on an almost normal life but has the gentle reminder to still take care. I have had great success with whiplash by using a mixture of therapies too.. Other conditions that I have treated successfully include Allergies and related conditions including asthma and eczema, sinus problems, and catarrh, Stress and related conditions, skin and digestive problems, Emotional problems like mood swings, lack of confidence, fears and phobias, Miscellaneous Conditions such as vertigo and tinnitus and various forms of Pain. In October 2002 I was asked to give a demonstration on Granada TV of HK’s allergy procedure.
